Foggy Morning and Lifer Clay-colored Sparrow
December 7, 2017 - A foggy morning made for a beautiful sunrise, the Grasshopper Sparrow cooperated, and the Clay-colored Sparrow surprised me :)
Description | Palatlakaha Environmental and Agricultural Reserve (PEAR) Park is a great place to look for wintering sparrows. I like wandering through the Scrub Trail area, looking for bluebirds and kestrels and other little birds. |
Photography Advice | Take your longest lens – the birds are more skittish here than at more populated locations. |

November 5, 2017 - A pair of Eastern Bluebirds serenaded me while I watched mixed flocks of passerines wake up and search for their breakfasts.
February 18, 2017 - I stopped at PEAR Park last weekend for a birding scouting trip. Sparrows and kestrels and a fog bow, oh my!
