Cedar Waxwings

Posted Saturday, January 17, 2009Thursday, April 22, 2010 Jess YarnellPosted in Backyard photography

The Cedar Waxwings are back! We saw (and heard!) several flocks flying over Fowler Grove this afternoon, then later four of them visited the oak in Goldy’s yard. It’d be fun if the big flocks converge upon our tree again this year…

‘Peace’ rose

Posted Wednesday, January 14, 2009Thursday, April 22, 2010 Jess YarnellPosted in Backyard photography

It figures that some of the roses are putting on their best flushes of new growth in a long time, a couple weeks before I’ll have to prune it all off! This is ‘Peace’. She’s one of the roses that’s going to be transplanted soon (the original plan was to transplant this weekend, but it looks like the weather is going to postpone it. Silly freezes!!)

Filter fun with dianthus

More fun with close-ups. This is a dianthus annual flower that is blooming like crazy in our back beds right now.

Jess My blog started as a daily record of wildlife and plants in my backyard garden, plus snapshots of our cats and Rich's favorite turtles. Then I discovered bird photography, and now the birds outnumber the cats and turtles! Browse the links below to see birds and other critters photographed around Central Florida.
