We were very surprised to see this Downy Woodpecker in our yard today, first in Carla’s oleander, then in our oak tree. We’ve never seen woodpeckers in our neighborhood before; I assumed we didn’t have trees that were big enough yet. But this guy was drumming away at our oak tree, so I guess it’s big enough!
